Our name "BLUE CORD" originates from the blue shoulder cord worn by me, Ethan and by all other Army members who successfully complete the grueling Infantry Course currently conducted at Fort Benning, Georgia. This graduation ceremony is known as "Turning Blue". Infantry blue cord
We'd like to talk about our family's history since we are a small, family business with military service on Bradley's side of the family going all the way to the American Revolution! Susie's family has had many generations in the military as well.
Bradley is a direct descendant of Mike Fink, born in the 1770's, a "semi-legendary brawler and river boatman" exemplifying "the tough men...who ran keelboats up and down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers". Davy Crockett, a friend of his, described him as "half horse and half alligator" because of his strength and resilience.

He is also a direct descendant of Captain Gorge Kemp, of one George Washington's officers during the American Revolution.
Skipping past a few generations of family that served in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, both of Bradley's late grandfathers served in World War 2.
His paternal grandfather, Mahlon L. Fink, in the Marine Corps 5th Division at Iwo Jima, personally witnessing the famous flag raising.
Not Forgotten: Mahlon L. Fink leaves a legacy of love and patrotism.
Susie's brother, Lane, was a pilot in the Marine Corps flying Prowlers, a radar jamming aircraft. He received a First Strike Award for being the first to fly into Bosnia during that war in the late 90s. Lane's other distinction is having his arrester hook fail during a carrier landing on the USS Ranger, causing his plane to crash into several parked fighter planes on the deck. After that his callsign was changed to "Ace" since that crash, through no fault of his own, claimed 5 US aircraft. Luckily, he was able to eject with his co-pilot but sustained injuries when his parachute slammed him back against the ship.
Susie's father, Stephen, was a Swift Boat crew member transporting Army Rangers of the Mobile Riverine Force and Navy SEALs up and down the Mekong River to fight the enemy in Vietnam. Coincidentally, Bradley would serve with one of those Rangers many years later during his time in the Army.

Bradley volunteered for the Airborne Infantry, then served in the Mechanized Infantry and "Light" Infantry as a Sergeant and combat deployed after 9/11.
Our oldest son, Seth (center), worked for Smith and Wesson in Houlton Maine as a CNC Milling operator fabricating some of their pistol parts and since has moved back to Pennsylvania.
Bradley is pictured on left, Nate right and one of our Elkhounds, Bryn.
Our 2nd of 4 sons, Ethan (front) served in a Stryker Infantry unit in Alaska, also a Sergeant and deployed to Korea after the missile crisis.
Our 3rd son Nate, enlisted in the Marine Corps and served as an 0311 Infantryman at Camp Lejune. This photo was taken the day of Nate's Boot Camp Graduation at Parris Island
Our youngest, Connor likes to help out any way he can and he LOVES Ventrac too!
We love America and we make sure to support small, local businesses every chance we get as we are members of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce.
The Blue Cord is an item of distinction worn with pride by all who earn it. Bradley passed his BLUE CORD on to his son, Ethan, when he "Turned Blue" on Thanksgiving Day, his 19th birthday, 2015. They are pictured here at Fort Benning (now Fort Moore), Georgia, Ethan wearing Bradley's Blue Cord and Bradley wearing his.
We currently keep Ethan's Blue Cord on the rear view mirror of our company truck with the philosophy that "Whatever is worth doing is worth doing best!"
As a result, we are the highest rated contractor in the Tri-State area for residential grading, leveling, re-sloping, stump grinding, lawn aeration and seeding, brush cutting, drainage installations and lot clearing. We do ONE job at a time and do it above and beyond our customer's expectations, paying attention to every need and explaining every step of the process in a way that can be understood.
It's not just due to the great pride we take in the quality of our work and unparalleled customer service, it's also our top end Ventrac equipment that we use! These incredible machines coupled with our craftsmanship and expertise is what sets us apart from all others since we can do most of our work without destroying your lawn. Our first Ventrac is a 2005 4200VXD that still runs great! Our second Ventrac is a 2015 4500Z and pictured above with the Power Rake attachment is the main workhorse for our business.
For many years we were located on the edge of the wilderness in New Limerick, Northern Maine where outdoor work is just a bit more challenging and takes more fortitude to get it done.

We relocated to 106 Saw Mill Rd, Coatesville in 2017 to be closer to family. Although we greatly miss Maine and the great friends we have there, we now get to spend much more time with our family and also get to offer the skills we've honed over the years to a new customer base who also appreciates the quality of fine workmanship. If you are looking for a small company that will take the time to do a job right, a company that will get to know you personally, keep you informed every step of the way and make sure that you are completely happy with our work, we will be a great fit for you.

What our customers say
Bradley was not only professional & courteous, he was meticulous about his work. He responded to my inquiry for a job I needed done in record time & got me into his schedule much sooner than I had expected. He was also sweet to my little kids, who insisted they watch him use the big excavator machine. I would definitely recommend him for any lawn care issues!
We originally hired Bradley to remove some overgrowth in our back yard. He exceeded our expectations by not only removing all of the overgrowth but also grading and seeding the area that he cut back. Bradley is very professional and exceeded our expectations throughout the whole process. We would highly recommend him to anyone that needs any big jobs tackled!!!
Awesome customer service and work!!! I have never seen aeration done so well. Our lawn was hard and compact and was left feeling soft to walk on. There were no tubes of dirt all over as I have seen in the past. Would very highly recommend!! We actually hired Blue Cord Property Care for another job before they left the first one due to being so impressed!
Bradley did an excellent job in repairing a failed French drain in our front yard. His persistence in getting the job done right was outstanding. He communicated well and did not stop until he knew we were happy with the outcome. He went the extra mile for us and we would definitely recommend him to anyone seeking professionalism, honesty and integrity in a company.
