We'd like to talk about our family's history since we are a small, family business with 4 consecutive generations serving our Nation's military on Bradley's side and military on Susie's side too.
Bradley is a direct descendant of Mike Fink, born in the 1770's, a "semi-legendary brawler and river boatman" exemplifying "the tough men...who ran keelboats up and down the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers". Davy Crockett, a friend of his, described him as "half horse and half alligator" because of his strength and resilience.
Skipping past a few generations of family that served in the Revolutionary and Civil Wars, both of Bradley's late grandfathers served in World War 2.
His paternal grandfather, Mahlon L. Fink, in the Marine Corps 5th Division at Iwo Jima, personally witnessing the famous flag raising.
Not Forgotten: Mahlon L. Fink leaves a legacy of love and patrotism.
and John F. Maurer (front row 2nd from left) as a 20th Air Force Aerial Gunner on the B29 Superfortress, flying missions over Japan.
served in the Army during Vietnam as a tank mechanic. After the Army, his dad would become an aerospace and electro-mechanical engineer, or in other words, a rocket scientist and inventor who designs and sells his own anti-burglary devices for home and business!
Susie's father, Stephen, was a Swift Boat crew member transporting Army Rangers of the Mobile Riverine Force and Navy SEALs up and down the Mekong River to fight the enemy in Vietnam. Coincidentally, Bradley would serve with one of those Rangers many years later during his time in the Army.
Susie's brother, Lane, was a pilot in the Marine Corps flying Prowlers, a radar jamming aircraft.
He received a First Strike Award for being the first to fly into Bosnia during that war in the late 90s. Lane's other distinction is having his arrester hook fail during a carrier landing on the USS Ranger, causing his plane to crash into several parked fighter planes on the deck. After that his "handle" was changed to "Ace" since that crash, through no fault of his own, claimed 5 US aircraft. Luckily, he was able to eject with his co-pilot but sustained injuries when his parachute slammed him back against the ship.
Bradley volunteered for the Airborne Infantry, then served in the Mechanized Infantry and "Light" Infantry as a Sergeant and combat deployed after 9/11.
Our oldest son, Seth (center), worked for Smith and Wesson in Maine as a CNC Milling operator fabricating some of their pistol parts now working for Morgan Body and for us when we need the help and he has the availability.
Bradley is pictured on left, Nate right and one of our Elkhounds, Bryn.
Our 2nd of 4 sons, Ethan (front) served in a Stryker Infantry unit in Alaska, also a Sergeant and deployed to Korea after the missile crisis.
Our 3rd son Nate, 15, helps us during the Summers between school years. Bradley is driving the Ventrac.
Our youngest, Connor, only 4, likes to help out any way he can and he LOVES Ventrac too!
We love America and we make sure to support small, local businesses every chance we get as we are members of the Western Chester County Chamber of Commerce.
The Blue Cord is an item of distinction worn with pride by all who earn it. Bradley passed his BLUE CORD on to his son, Ethan, when he "Turned Blue" on Thanksgiving Day, his 19th birthday, 2015. They are pictured here at Fort Benning, Georgia, Ethan wearing Bradley's Blue Cord and he is wearing his.
We currently keep Ethan's Blue Cord on the rear view mirror of our company truck with the philosophy that "Whatever is worth doing is worth doing best!"
